On November 23-24, we convened a strategic planning conference on the topic of
“Sustainable Communication System in Altai Republic,” at
Gorno-Altaisk State
University, using
Open Space Technology format and facilitated by Marina Tyasto.
The conference was initiated by Altai Mir University and Siberian Academy for
Public Administration to begin implementation of the findings from the
GUS/Altai Mir Fact-Finding
Mission in September, 2006.
It was sponsored by the Republic of Altai Governmental
Committee on Entrepreneurship, Industry, Transport and Communication,
Gorno-Altaisk State University, Novosibirsk State Medical University,
and NCP Siberian Educational-Consulting Center Connect.
About 80 people participated, with 31 working groups producing 27 reports.
These were combined into five working groups
which produced action plans. We finished with great excitement, and with
people wanting more of such conferences.
