A partially funded mapping project for sacred sites is now underway in Onguday, Kosh Agach, Ukok, and Ust Koksa regions, under the direction of Chagat Almashev of Fund for Sustainable Development. Reports will be posted when available.

Any mapping project must balance the need to protect precious sacred sites to archeological exploitation/destruction and vandalism through keeping them secret against the need for provention of destruction/loss through private land and development rights.
